One of Victoria’s favourite year-round destinations, Bright and it’s surrounds offers a spectacular gift from nature – picture perfect valleys, cool shady rivers, dazzling autumn colour and high alpine peaks and plains. Add to this fine, locally produced food and wine, numerous annual festivals and markets, it’s little wonder that people keep returning here year after year.
Bright and surrounds has been long known for it’s food and wine and the options keep getting better. The town offers fine and casual dining as well as many cafes serving great breakfasts and fabulous coffee.
Local produce ranges from apples, nuts, olives and locally roasted coffee. Many of these are available at markets and the farm gate. Wineries in the region include those in Porepunkah, Gapsted and the King Valley, and are a great place to break up the drive and pick up supplies for your stay, or to take back home.
Families are well catered for with playgrounds at Howitt Park (Bright), Wandiligong and Porepunkah. You may also like to swim in the river, cycle the Rail Trail, catch a fish at the Trout Farm, feed the animals at the Deer and Emu Farm and get lost in the Wandi Maze!
